CORPORATE OCCUPATION SAFETY LEAD OIL AND GAS OPERATOR EXPERIENCE

We are seeking to recruit on behalf of our client an OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY LEAD who will be based in Qatar on a residential long term contract. Our client undertaking a transformation of the Corporate HSEQ function and are looking for Senior experienced HSEQ professionals who not only have solid discipline subject matter expertise but also the leadership and change management skills to help build a world class team. The Occupational Safety Lead will be accountable to help develop and shape client Occupational Safety Community through the development and implementation of pragmatic corporate standards and guidance.

Responsibilities

·Enhance the Corporate Occupational Safety standards, procedures and guidelines as part of the Corporate governance framework

·Develop and implement an Occupational Safety improvement plan including enhanced monitoring and reporting of proactive leading indicators

·Cultivate the development and operation of an Occupational Safety Community within client in order to sustain a culture of knowledge transfer, adoption of suitable best practices and the achievement of common goals within the Community

·Lead the development of a company-wide Occupational Safety ‘job family’ including specification of competence and training requirements with associated technical authority levels

·Manage site assessments to identify and help operating Directorates develop local focused improvement programs

·Provide subject matter expertise to support, coach and build the Corporate Occupational Safety discipline and wider HSEQ function

·Identify and manage expert consultancy resources

·Develop and lead knowledge transfer programs to enhance the awareness and understanding of Occupational Safety in an industrial context

·Act with full independence in decision making at a corporate level

·Act with full independence in facilitating senior and executive management engagement on Personal Health and Safety

·Review and evaluate recommendations from Managers, Assistant Managers and Section Heads to help shape and develop optimum safety solutions

·Extensive collaboration and consultation with all company Directorates including operational, project and office based /corporate functions

·Ability to project manage to tight deadlines

·The successful candidate will need to personally deliver in their core discipline area as well as driving implementation by influencing decision makers and working with and through others

Experience/Qualifications Required

·Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline or equivalent.

·Extensively experience in managing personal Health and Safety in the Oil & Gas Industry. (+ 20 years)

·Leadership experience in design and operation of Upstream and Downstream oil and gas processing facilities.

·Leadership experience in operational support and coordination of multi-discipline activities at a site level

·Expert knowledge of Personal Health and Safety covering Operations, Construction and project activities (Onshore and offshore)

·Demonstrable interpersonal skills (both in motivating employees and influencing stakeholders)

·Proven leadership, communication project management and change management skills
