Digby Morris’ client is a name synonymous with luxury travel. Founded nearly 30 years ago, the business owns and operates over 30 nos., 5* hotel and spa resorts across South East Asia, the Indian Ocean and Europe. As a significant investor in the Maldivian tourist economy the company has committed a significant development budget to expanding its already substantial portfolio in this stunning Indian Ocean archipelago. 
For their current expansion program, involving multiple new resorts in the Maldives, we’re looking for a Lead Mechanical and Electrical Engineer/MEP Project Manager.
Responsibilities:
•Playing an active part in delivering MEP projects from brief through to completion •Effectively communicate with all project stakeholders and site installation teams to build and maintain relationships•Will be reporting into the Construction Directors and will have a Mechanical and Electrical team reporting into him/her•Working with in house and external consultants to produce the M&E Design. Performing cost analysis as and when required•Working closely with QS and Procurement Manager reviewing project scope and managing the budget and schedule•Help selecting/assessing/appointing the Supply Chain•Meetings with suppliers and subcontractors, dealing with issues and requests•Analyse the returned bids with the commercial team and help to select the sub/trade contractor who displays the best understanding of the project requirements, the best value engineering, the best commitment to the project and whose bid is most competitive•Appointing the Site Team. Preparing the project programme, including the delivery strategy and ensure project milestones are achieved •effectively managing project issues, risk and opportunities•Managing sub-contractors to ensure the delivery of the works on time and within budget. Supervising the progress of work and run M&E trades •Leadership and ownership of the compliance and delivery of Health and Safety and Quality standards will be a basic requirement•Regular project internal financial reports (progress, cost and any other relevant issues), updating the Construction Directors, ensuring smooth and timely flow of information between all parties to the contract. •A degree qualification in mechanical / electrical engineering or building services•Experience in both Electrical and Mechanical Project Management•Proven track record in delivering projects in excess of USD10m MEP value in time•5+ years of experience preferably with top M&E subcontractor•Sound knowledge of Construction process and construction methods•Ability to work for protracted periods in remote location•Strong management style•Able to create solid working relationships with people at all levels•Excellent communication skills•Strong IT skills, advanced EXCEL and Autocad•Good problem-solving skills•Able to build a team around you, set targets and make sure they are delivered •Resilient and able to deal with challengesBenefits

•The position is based permanently on site in the Maldives and hence only suitable for single status applications•Initial interview by skype – short listed candidates will be required to travel (at employer cost) to the Maldives for face to face panel interview•Start date is ASAP•Contract offered on a 12 month renewable basis – project duration 3-4 years
