WASHINGTON, Jan 6 (KUNA) -- Top U.S. State department adviser on human trafficking, Ambassador Luis CdeBaca, will travel to Myanmar to assess human trafficking situation there, the U.S. announced late Thursday. CdeBaca, Ambassador at Large to Monitor and Combat Trafficking in Persons, will travel on January 9-11 to assess the situation firsthand and to explore ways the Myanmar government can boost anti-trafficking efforts, the State department said in a statement. During his visit, he will join Ambassador Derek Mitchell and meet with both government officials, non-governmental organizations and international organizations, including the Human Rights Commission, to address the issue of sex trafficking and improve labor conditions for workers.
