BAGHDAD, Jan 6 (KUNA) -- The Iraqi capital on Friday witnessed a military parade, marking the Iraqi Army 91st Anniversary -- the first such event since recent US military pullout from the country.
Troops, armored units and heavy weapons passed in front of a stand manned by Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki and senior political and military leaders, during the show held within the heavily-guarded "green zone," while all roads leading to the area were shut.
The parade included shows by cavaliers and anti-terrorists squads.
It was held near the site of the unknown martyr, where the ousted regime used to hold such activities. (end) mhg.rk KUNA 061337 Jan 12NNNN¬
